This piece is quite incredible in the patterns and sense of depth and dimension.  It is really beautiful.  Semiconductors film 200 Nanowebbers was really brilliant too, but this new work form 2011, is equally as good.  Great work semiconductor 20 Hz - A Semiconductor work by Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt. Sound out of Paper - Research Project - Andrei Smirnov
"Sound out of Paper is a research project in progress related to the technology of synthesizing sound from light called Graphical (Drawn) Sound technique which was invented in Soviet Russia in 1929 as a consequence of the newly invented sound-on-film technology. At exactly the same time similar efforts were being undertaken in Germany by Rudolf Pfenninger in Munich and, somewhat later, by Oscar Fischinger in Berlin. As such the history of the Graphical Sound is an interesting cross section of 20th century history, reaching from the euphoria of the late 19th Century and early 20th Century inventors through the paradigm-smashing experiments of the Soviet avant-garde in the 1920's and 1930's to the cynical clash of ideologies of the Post-war years and finally…

12_Series by Telcosystems - 2009
12_Series is a new generative multichannel computer installation by Telcosystems (NL). 12_series - work in progress pt. 2 from Telcosystems. "The installation is an audiovisual horizon comprised of twelve identical image and sound generating machines.   The software for these machines is based on the idea of evolution, implementing forms of audiovisual imitation, mutation and recombination, aiming for the emergence of captivating complexity from a vocabulary of rudimentary shapes, sounds and logic. The system is build around the notion of decentralized autonomous decision making, where each machine displays its own generative behavior, while reacting to behavior of neighboring machines and adapting to centrally organized environmental variables. In this way the i…

COMPOSER - Jim Aitchison - Visible Music
Visible Music Composing visions of sound by UK composer Jim Aitchison. "Jim Aitchison is a composer whose music derives from a range of sources, often from the world of the visual, re-imagining contemporary and past artworks as notations of sound. He makes music for chamber ensembles, orchestra and solo performers out of encounters with visual art and living artists, curators and galleries. The work is proposed both as a response to these encounters and as part of a wider engagement with fundamental musical and artistic issues." His responses to art/paintings in a musical context are quite extraordinary. The scores resemble the visual - as in the screenshot when you come to his website initially, here a painting entitled Elegy for Terry Frost by John Hyland …

The Light Bead Curtain
" description The Light Bead Curtain is an interactive musical installation that can be freely played by person's touch. The installation takes the form of a beaded curtain; strings of simple clear beads. Each bead, on a users touch, lights itself and emits a unique sound. ColorOfMySound.com
http://www.colorofmysound.com/ Assign colors to songs at the free music promotion community, ColorOfMySound.com " Synaesthesia is the mixing of the senses. Those affected by it hear colors, see sounds, and taste tactile sensations. When the two senses involved are sound and color, this phenomenon is no longer limited to synaesthetes: anyone, given a sound and time for contemplation, can ascribe color to that sound. Often, these connections between sound and color will overlap from person to person. Color Of My Sound is an informal experiment to test that hypothesis. First, choose a sound category . Then, after listening, choose the color to which you are most strongly drawn. Give us your thoughts. Then, you can see how others voted for that particular sound. &quo…
