The meaning comes from words and the material of art is used to shape that meaning into art works. She is represented at Artsy.net and that are the basis of the shaping of the material Biography from artsy.net "Describing herself as “a writer who writes with materials,” Alexandra Grant produces paintings, drawings, sculptures, and installations based on language. She is interested in how we engage with words, through reading, writing, speaking, and translation, and how it shapes our perception of others, the world, and ourselves. Her ongoing collaborations with philosophers, linguists, and actors, including Michael Joyce, HĆ©lĆØne Cixous, and Keanu Reeves, have earned her the designation, “radical collaborator.” Beginning with a text by or conversation with these collaborators, she transforms words into art. Art Pop Project KYOTI

London based art pop project KYOTI have just released their debut music single ' Cave-in ' with accompanying video. Great to see the pop music world focus on working with art through moving images and art to accompany their music. The art of their music is as important as the music itself. Kyoti's website imagery is very striking too. http://thisiskyoti.com/ From Marietta "With support for the track already coming from Clash and Indie Shuffle, you can watch the nostalgic visuals here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0sVzdxJrkg&feature=youtu.be In keeping with KYOTI's distinctive imagery - focused on combining the surreal with the mundane, particularly around the power of monolithic architecture and sculpture - ‘Cave In’ features monochromatic archive footage characterised by a mesmerising motif of hands in an echo of the single’s artwork." RECENT BOOKS - Topic of VIsual Music

Growing literature in the field of Visual Music When I started to explore the topic of audio visual composition and started to use the term 'visual music' in 1999 to describe my own practice and research, there were very few books on the topic of Visual Music as such.  However, there is a very rich source of texts in Journals on particular areas of practice and related areas of research and the term visual music did come forth in these journals, but was not prominent.  I started to gather these articles as they were precious sources of information about other people's work and research and very exciting to learn about.  The term itself came to prominence with the publication of the catalogue 'Visual Music' for a major Visual Music Exhibition held in the US.  Now there is a growing literature in the field. Here are some recent and forthcoming publications. Recent and Forthcoming Publications Book Cover Description The Visual Music Film by Aimee Mo...
